Can you see the nerd in purple,

Fly like Wi-Fi sly like Urkel?

These beats are clean, fresh like Dougie -

Find me typing - love is funny.

Once upon New London’s day

I found fine art upon my way,

And saw the beast, an eager creature,

the melted candy sidewalk sculpture.

What does it wonder? Does it think?

Does it think me sweet, or that I stink?

Maybe inanimate, but who’s to say

what governs how where candy paves?

It could be peaceful, and I adorn it.

Someday my poetry might afford it…

But, right now I build venues to use;

and glad, reflecting, I do peruse.

Take me moments - that’s how peace is;

There is no wrong way to eat a Reese's.

Like how your taste evolves with gobstoppers;

“They’re everlasting,” Wonka told us as toddlers.

Art’s not food, but it sustains something.

Somehow, I cannot put my finger on that thing.

So, I am quietly humbled in a place of spirit;

Taking my time to look - in my mind -

I feel it.
